Liberating Lomie for Sale and Interview with BBC Radio 4

When we think of a community with fewer modern technologies, our minds usually go directly to the Amish. By eschewing many modern technologies, do the Amish also avoid the unintended consequences of the technologies most in the mainstream adopt without question? This question is explored on a program called Digital Human on BBC Radio 4 in Scotland some days ago. I was interviewed for the program, and yesterday the podcast became available. You can follow the link to the program called “Unintended” to have a listen. My part of the interview was a little bit in the beginning, and then more time towards the end. Digital Human is a thought-provoking program, as I’ve discovered in recent days when I listened to a number of their podcasts. I hope you’ll hop on over and have a listen and browse their other podcasts as well.

Liberating Lomie is now for sale as an ebook worldwide… yay hurray! Here is a universal link to the outlets where you can buy the ebook, including Amazon, Applebooks, Kobo, and many more. So no matter where you are reading this blog post from, you should be able to find an outlet that carries the ebook for Liberating Lomie.

Today I had the exciting experience of picking up the proof from a local printer, Shenandoah Valley Printing, and it is looking great! They used high quality white paper, and I love the matte cover. The photos included in the book also look good. I didn’t know they would look this sharp, given the age of them. I like the cover design, and I also am quite pleased with my interior design, and I hope you will be also.

I have created a new webpage called Liberating Lomie, which I invite you to visit. You can now pre-order the print book, which I plan to ship on or right after June 22nd. The first ten readers who order Liberating Lomie will also receive a free copy of Bonnet Strings in their package. I won’t announce this offer anywhere else except here on my blog as a token of my appreciation for your loyal readership. This offer is good for anywhere in the USA.

If you don’t live in the US, but you’d like to buy a print book, that option will soon be available. There are still a few more steps I need to take to upload the print book to Amazon, which will then become available via print on demand anywhere in the world.

The same is true for Ingram Spark, which will make the ebook and the print book available to wholesalers all over the world. I will publish a link to my book on their site as soon as it’s available.

With the distribution channels in place, what is needed now is to get the word out about this new book. A good place to start is with readers who like what they read and become ambassadors for the book. I appreciate all your efforts in spreading the word. To that end, if you would like to receive a free ebook to review, please leave me a message from my Contact Page with your name, email address, and a link to where you will post the review. I look forward to hearing from you!

Thank you, dear readers, for all the inspiration you’ve provided me to create this book. It has been a long road for me to get this book into print, and a long wait for you who have been anticipating it. Let’s celebrate!

Just listened to the podcast. Good stuff!!! I was just saying to my husband the other day how we create all this new technology without really thinking what it could mean for us down the road—and not in a good way!! Technology definitely has its place and has given us some good things but it has also given us some bad. We could definitely learn from the Amish in what we as a society and individually embrace from new technology being created.

    1. Pamela, you are very mindful of the unintended consequences of technology, and you examine your life deeply. If everyone did that, life would slow down and there would be fewer distractions.

Thank you for your comments. I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week.
