Gratitude

DSCN0266

There are some days when I have to sit back and count my many blessings. This is one of those days. It is a gorgeous late summer/early autumn day here in the Pioneer Valley. I just finished my German homework for a class I'm auditing at Smith College. Today as I was walking through campus, I got that feeling I've always gotten in September at the beginning of a school year when I'm attending school. I've gotten this feeling ever since I was a little girl. And I get to feel it again, even though I'm in my fifties. The crisp autumn air encapsulates my love of learning and makes me feel so alive.

I just accepted an invitation to the Buckeye Book Fair. On November 1, I will be at this exciting event in my home state of Ohio. I'm looking forward to it.

I will then give a talk on November 3 at the Guthrie Memorial Library in Hanover, Pennsylvania, followed by another talk at the Hickory Public Library on November 4. For my schedule, you can visit my events page.

I'm also grateful that Herald Press is my publisher. The people I work with there are such a delight, and they are very enthusiastic about helping me be successful in getting my book known and read. I mostly work with Jerilyn Schrock, and she is so cheerful and easy to work with.

Herald Press has a blog called Mennobytes, and today they are announcing several giveaways. Bonnet Strings is among them. They are offering two copies, so you have a good chance of winning one. I am including the handy widget so you can click on over there and sign up for the giveaway.

So I am grateful: For this beauiful day, for my home in this beautiful place, for the opportunity to learn, for being able to travel to new places and meet new people, for the kind folks at Herald Press, and for life itself.

And I am, as always, grateful to you for visiting my blog. I love when you leave comments. Don't get confused if you don't see your comment immediately after posting it. To filter out the spam, I moderate them.

Have a wonderful weekend! And if you feel so moved, please share what you are grateful for this day.

I’m grateful for my family and my church-family, a job I enjoy and the opportunity to explain our culture & beliefs to the visitors that come to our community, good friends and good books, and for the crisp, cool weather we are enjoying. Above all, I’m grateful for God and His blessings, guidance, and protection. Last of all — good coffee, which I’m enjoying before our work day starts. 🙂 Blessings to you and yours, Saloma and fellow-readers.

Mark, thank you for sharing your gratitude. What a wonderful list of Blessings. Having seen you in your setting, I can just “see” how your day starts. Blessings to you and your family also, Mark.

There sure is always something to be thankful about!

Yes, but isn’t it interesting how some days we have to look a lot harder? And other days, it’s as if you look at it with fresh eyes and realize these blessings have been there all along. We just had to stop taking them for granted.

Thank you, Michelle, for your stopping by and commenting.

I am thankful for my family, our beautiful home, precious friends, good health and the many little gifts God blesses us with every day.
Have a wonderful day everyone. 🙂

Thank you, Miriam, for your adding to thoughts of gratitude. I’m looking out at the colorful sky and I give thanks for beautiful autumn sunsets. It is, as you mentioned one of the little gifts God blesses us with every day.

      Have a wonderful weekend.

Thankful for my home…especially hearing a thunderstorm coming in!

I agree… and it is raining at this moment, with thunder rumbling in the distance. Having a home is a wonderful thing, but so easy to take for granted. Being grateful is the opposite of that.

      Thank you for stopping by.
