Happy Thanksgiving!
I am taking a moment as I prepare a Thanksgiving meal for six to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. It is truly a time for giving thanks for all that we have. Being of sound mind and body is something I often take for granted, and having a day of the year for giving special thanks makes me stop and think what a blessing this is.
Thanksgiving can also bring out the stresses in families and relationships. We are experiencing that this year, so my prayer is for healing in these relationships.

I received a heartwarming package in the mail this week from a reader who is giving my books as gifts. This is a repeat order, and along with it she sent me cards she had made with a quote from Why I Left the Amish about forgiveness. This package reminded me of why I wrote my story. It is so gratifying to see to what degree this person has identified with it. Paula, if you read this, know that read your beautiful card with a grateful heart.
As always, I am thankful for such loyal readers. If at times I neglect this blog, know that I will be back. My life is full right now, but I enjoy the exchanges here.

When I wrote this guest post on Chip McGregor’s blog(http://www.chipmacgregor.com/career/planning-scheduling-author-talks-guest-blog/), I was reminded again of how instrumental you were in the early part of my speaking career. I wrote: “Just like any other kind of networking, speaking builds on itself. One person tells another how much they liked your talk, and a new person will call you to invite you to speak. These people are silver. I had one librarian send a message out over his listserve that reached his whole state. He challenged them to host a larger audience than he had. This librarian was gold.” You know who “this librarian” is.

Miriam, the feeling is mutual. I am so grateful to you for writing to me some months ago. I very much look forward to when we meet in person. I get the feeling our paths were meant to cross.
Our Thanksgiving was lots of fun with games (some new, some old), good food, and wonderful company. David’s sister and her husband traveled here from Ohio, and then our sons also came home.
David and I hope you and your family had a blessed and happy Thanksgiving as well.

I am always glad to read your blog. Hope you have a good thanksgiving together. We know what hard live is and are still in. Sometimes it can be hard even to believe. But we get so much even when we struggle in every way.
