Traveling South to Meet up with Spring

Valley Spring

By the time you read this blog post, David and I will be on the road south to visit friends in Ephrata, Pennsylvania and Harrisonburg, Virginia. I am so ready for Spring, I can barely contain myself. Since it will not come to northern Vermont for another six weeks, David and I are hoping to meet up with Spring down there. The hard part will coming back to more winter. But at least we will get a break.

It’s been a while since I have given an update on what is happening in my life. Winter here in northern Vermont has kept me more housebound than I care to be. What keeps me busy are two volunteer part-time jobs. I’ve been putting much of my creative energy into the Amish Descendant Scholarship Fund (ADSF). There are a lot of exciting developments, which I wrote about on the ADSF blog. I hope you’ll click on over there and read about them.

I’ve also been the Communications Coordinator for the NEK Quakers. David and I are grateful to be part of this tightly-knit community in which everyone does their part. A Quaker Friend and I are designing a website for the group, which will be new for the community. When it goes public, I will share it here on my blog.

I will write more upon my return. I hope you visit the ADSF blog to catch up on what is happening there. You may want to learn about our conference in Middlebury, Indiana this summer.

I’m hoping to see blooms in Virginia like I did last year in March when I took this photo of daffodils. Wish me luck!

Saloma, the nice things about this trip is that you will be able to enjoy two springs this year. Sounds great to me.

    Your photos are beautiful!!!!
I’m a bit behind on your blog since we are into May now but I do love reading your posts & I don’t mind going backwards!! LOL
Spring has finally won out here in western Pennsylvania- at least I hope so. Winter did not want to let its icy grip go and give spring its turn!! Though we still have some chilly nights and enough frosty morning’s to keep me from putting my vegetable plants out.
Hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable trip & spring has sprung in Vermont.
