Paul’s Birthday

This is an incredibly busy week, so I haven’t had any time to update my blog. David and I are painting basement walls and trim boards for the soffit boards, fascia boards, and trim boards being cut and installed on the outside of the house.  Between each of us having a job, coordinating the progress of the house project, and me marketing my book, our lives are a bit too full at the moment.

David and I did end up driving to South Royalton for Paul’s birthday on Saturday. The plan was to bring dinner for him and his lady friend, Kathy, also a student at Vermont Law School.  We revised that plan and took them out to dinner instead, but then went back to his place for homemade apple pie and ice cream.  I gave Paul a choice between a birthday cake or pie, and he chose what he has since he was a boy, when given that choice — apple pie.

It was really good to talk with Paul and Kathy, who both have wonderful values and they have high ideals, as only young people can (we oldies know we don’t have enough time left on this earth to make as big a difference in the world).  And they are both very intelligent. (No biases, of course). It was a very enjoyable evening.

The trip back was very long, but David did a wonderful job of driving. I don’t know how he managed to stay awake… I tried to no avail. I may have said this already, but I will say it again — David is my hero.

I will also say that I am very happy to be Paul's mother and I thank him for sharing his birthday with us… this is the first time in ten years that we had this chance. Happy studying to him and Kathy.

Glad you had a good time cellebrating Paul’s birthday and arrived safely home. Don’t cut your self short on one’s age and contribution’s to this world. It happens little by little with one person at a time. Laura Ingalls Wilder didn’t write her books until she was 65 yrs. young. Hopefully your book will be around a long while, and effect positive ways for many people in raising their children, among other things.
    Blessings,
    Jory

Times like these with our spouse and children get sweeter as the days go by, don’t they? Glad you had a good time.
    Have a wonderful weekend!
    Blessings,
    Karen
