Pre-Ordering Signed Copies of Bonnet Strings

I wanted to announce that you now have an online option for pre-ordering signed copies of Bonnet Strings: An Amish Woman’s Ties to Two Worlds from my website.

Several of you have already found this option and placed your orders, literally minutes after my website person and I posted the order form on my website. Thank you!

I am printing out the orders as they come in, numbering them, and adding them to my folder to ship as soon as the book is released on February 3. (I know what I’ll be doing that day!)

My apologies that there is not an easy way to hold payment through Pay Pal until the order is shipped, so your credit cards will be charged right away. Do know I will be diligent in getting the orders to you as soon as I can and in the order in which I receive them. If you are uncomfortable with this arrangement, you can always pre-order through Amazon or directly from Herald Press.

One thing you might want to know is that you pay the same shipping costs, no matter how many books you’re ordering. If you know you want more than one copy, now is the time to order as many copies as you need. I will offer this for a limited time.

And there are developments of the film, “The Amish: Shunned” that will be airing on American Experience on February 4, the day after my book launches. You can read an introduction and you can see a preview.

The preview is very poignant for me. Anna, who was living with David and me, is the person putting on her boots in our front hall. You also see her walking down the street, and with a bonnet on, and you hear her telling, in her own words, the struggle in her soul.

Anna a year ago

I miss Anna. She had a wonderful sense of humor and she was very grounded. Now she is being forbidden to communicate with us after she chose to return to her community. I keep hoping and praying she is doing well.

Anna and I are two of the seven people whose stories the film follows. It will be quite the event in our little town of Sunderland, when we show the film two days before it airs in the public library. For I am not the only one who misses Anna. I hear from everyone around how much they miss talking with her and buying her baked goods.

So mark February 4 on your calendar to see the film. And head on over to my website if you want to pre-order a copy of Bonnet Strings signed by both authors — David and me.

I have been getting lots of comments from people who are interested in reading Bonnet Strings. Please tell your friends and help me spread the word. Thank you so much!
