I’ve heard from many of you who are not receiving my email notifications even though you are signed up. Judging by the number of unsubscribe notices I’ve been receiving of late, I believe it is safe to say that many are receiving my notifications who no longer want to. This had me thinking about my blog and its purpose and I realized that my focus has changed, and the blog hasn’t changed with it. Because of these two issues, I have not been blogging very frequently.
When I started my blog in 2009, I was doing so with the purpose of challenging many of the myths about Amish culture I felt were being perpetuated because I didn’t know many former Amish who were willing to take on that challenge. Today I’m interested in lending support to other abuse survivors, and to those who are leaving or have left their Amish family and community. So I have started a new blog on Blogger called About Amish and Beyond. I hope you’ll hop on over and check it out to leave comments and questions that can continue our years-long dialog.
I will be leaving this blog on my website as an archive. Eventually I will disable comments, but for now that function is still available. I look forward to hearing from you!
